Christopher Gray is an emerging English designer, illustrator, photographer, and writer. The Manchester native came into the public eye by winning the 2008 Freitag Design-A-Truck Award, besting a field of over 3,000 contenders from 70 countries. Recently featured in the May 2011 issue of Wallpaper magazine, a prominent publication self-described as visual journalism, Gray’s work predominantly focuses on the expressive nature of simple graphic forms. Bold, vibrant shapes inspired by vast rural landscapes in Sweden and England follow his on-going experimentation with minimalism.

Continuously evolving as a complete artist, Gray’s keen interest in photography provides him a personal outlet to reflect on his daily experience, feelings, and memorable life moments. In addition to natural forms and the poignant narrative of his life, his influences include such as artists as Constantin Brâncuşi, Sol Lewitt, James Turrell & Henri Matisse.

With shows and commissions throughout Europe, the fast-acting and soft-spoken Christopher Gray’s abstract and progressively modern designs are a favorite of Erie Drive.  We are proud to be the first American retailer to carry his designs!
