Erie Drive Celebrates First Year in Online Retail

Posted October 15, 2012 0 Comments

Erie Drive, provider of hand-picked, unique gifts and home accessories is celebrating their first year of operation. Having gone live to a limited audience on October 11, 2011, they have grown their inventory to include over 1,200 fun, useful and unique items that have been individually selected by Creative Director Alexandra Grenham. The Erie Drive team has been lucky to partner with some of the best minds in the online space, starting with their web design partners, Buffalo-based 15Fingers LLC and creative style consultant, Jamie Wood.

“We are excited to be able to provide access and deliver a quality, curated collection of fine quality home products, gifts and personal accessories,“ says Grenham. “As we rapidly expand our platform and niche presence my collaboration both with Jamie Wood and 15Fingers has been extraordinary.   They work in concert to bring my creative dreams for Erie Drive come true. They bring it to life - where we showcase artisans, designers and a bit of the past. “

Creative Style Consultant Jamie Wood agrees. "Erie Drive is one of the rare online boutiques that offers a unique selection of home accents and kids toys coupled with a strong visual experience. We aim to evoke a brick and mortar style feel, complete with window display-like styled photographs and 'merchandised' product, with the convenience of shopping online. As Erie Drive grows in scale and scope, we'll continue to achieve fun and innovative approaches to showcasing our products."

Zack Schneider, Partner and CEO of 15 Fingers LLC, had this to say about working with the team in Natick, Massachusetts, “15 Fingers couldn’t be happier with Erie Drive as a client and firmly believe that they are bound for even bigger and brighter success. We’re extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with such a creatively gifted and highly motivated team of individuals. Our business relationship has grown to a place where we consider Erie Drive part of our extended family and we wish them nothing but the best in the years to come.”

John Gavin, CEO of Erie Drive has been pleased with the year’s efforts.  “We have had such an exciting year, and our success is due to our team, our investors, and the great response that we have received in the marketplace. There has been a positive response to our hand-selected offerings, and we feel that we’ve hit a niche that combines both practicality as well as design. We’ve created a user-friendly platform that invests heavily in the idea that our collection needs to be as visually pleasing as possible, bringing the customer into the Erie Drive experience right from the home page and through to each individual item.”

Additionally, Erie Drive has been busy pursuing a customer-focused strategy, which includes direct contact with customers by everyone on the team, from the customer service department all the way to the CEO level.

Greg Stobb, VP of Marketing sums it up as, “We have this core belief that, ultimately, our customers decide whether or not we’re worth the time and effort they’re putting in to pick out something from Erie Drive.  We know how important that gift is, how important that finishing touch to a room is, and we work with our customers to make sure that they leave our store with a sense that we are as picky and dedicated as they are. On any given day everyone on our team is responsible for trying our best to make sure that the customer leaves satisfied. You can’t please everyone, but we think that our track record so far has been excellent - and we’re going to keep it that way.”

To celebrate their first birthday, Erie Drive is offering Free Shipping to all customers from October 10 - 14. Says Grenham, “It’s our way of saying ‘Thank you!’ to our current customers, and hopefully, a few new people will come and see what Erie Drive is all about. We hope that you join us!”

Matthew Greene, Co-Founder of WiO added that “even though Erie Drive is not yet a TV advertiser, we’ve been able to accommodate these great brands  by delivering their uniques offers, promotions and relevant information via our Hero Page which we think will interest and excite our users.”

Creative Director Alexandra Grenham concurs. “We always want to bring our customers closer to the Erie Drive experience, and apps like WiO help us achieve that goal. Our hand-selected inventory comes from the famous street markets of London and Paris, in addition to our finds from American markets. “The WiO app brings us closer to the people who can’t necessarily get to these markets, but who want to find quality gifts and home items at their fingertips.”

Must Visit Site: Erie Drive

Via Twitter, I’ve discovered another new (to me) site that I think you will all love, too. It’s called Erie Drive and it’s a fantastic place to shop online for funky, hand-picked housewares, hostess gifts, and baby gifts. It reminds me a bit of Uncommon Goods, and has tons of new merchandise I haven’t seen before. Here are my top picks:

Flight 001 Carry-On Bottle Set ($15.99)

Ampersand Cutting Board ($90.99)

Baby Spoon- Crocodile ($18.99)

Harvard Station Reproduction Subway Sign ($299.00).  Wish I could get this one for myself–oh the memories!

Toddler Cork Bib
